An extremely rigid yet lightweight cone is vital to prevent cone failure at high sound pressure levels. Pioneer’s IMPP Composite Cones meet this need perfectly. CAE (computer-aided engineering) has been applied to create a surface spoke design that ensures high durability and rigidity of the cone.
A surface containing mica properly maintains the cone’s superior rigidity and internal loss. The back makes excellent use of light, water-resistant material.
Various materials were carefully combined to develop a diaphragm of extra lightness and rigidity to reproduce sound clearly with outstanding responsiveness, sensitivity and a suitable degree of internal loss.
The woofer combines a new, rigid Twaron®Aramid Fiber Cone and Elastic Polymer Surround for quicker response and higher sensitivity. It reproduces deep and bold bass & bold vocal sound.
